Alpha lipoic acid also plays a role in glucose metabolism by increasing insulin sensitivity within the skeletal muscle. Alpha lipoic acid is essential for several processes throughout the body such as energy production,  inflammatory pathway modulation, mitochondrial support, and regeneration of antioxidants.
