The effectiveness of glutathione is due to its activity as the master antioxidant. Glutathione is critically important in the neutralization of free radicals and reactive oxygen species. It binds to these molecules and other toxins to prevent oxidative damage to cells and promote their excretion from the body. Discard this medication after 28 days of first use or according to the beyond-use date, whichever date comes first. When disposing of unused medication or expired vials, do not flush or pour down the drain. Follow local guidelines on medication disposal. If the Glutathione vial is empty, discard with regular glass waste. For broken vials and needles, discard into a puncture-proof, red FDA-cleared sharps container to prevent needle-stick injuries.
